Overview

Position Overview:

The NeuroStar Reimbursement Support Specialist (NRS Specialist) is responsible for working with Neuronetics customers and third-party payers via a support line to help obtain reimbursement (coverage and payment) for Neuronetics products. In addition, the NRS Specialist recommends and implements process and service improvements under the direction of the Manager of Customer Support. The NRS Specialist also gathers and analyzes reimbursement support data and makes recommendations for improvement relating to trends.

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operating the support line on the schedule assigned.
  • Improving the coaching aspect of the reimbursement support service, to lead customers through the next stages in the reimbursement process.
  • Supporting customers with reimbursement issues/questions, including the more advanced issues/questions.
  • Conducting insurance and benefits verifications.
  • Educate customers on the pre-authorization process and/or respond to customer questions on payer specific pre-authorization procedures, including the more advanced pre-authorizations.
  • In collaboration with the reimbursement team, support sales representatives with training of customers regarding reimbursement tools and process.
  • Maintaining real-time records in a reimbursement database of payer/account activity. Acting as team lead on reporting.
  • Researching and monitoring payer policies, including the more advanced policy requests.
  • Acting as primary website interface for new policy updates, etc.
  • Assessing reimbursement support processes and recommends and implements process and service improvements under the direction of the Director, Reimbursement and Health Policy.
  • Gathering and analyzing reimbursement support data and makes recommendations for improvement relating to trends.
  • Providing coaching and training to Reimbursement Support Specialists as it relates to reimbursement education and process with a goal towards improvement in the quality of service, from a technical standpoint.
  • Acting as the Project Management “go to” person for the department.
  • Working with customer reimbursement support beyond what the hotline typically handles.
  • Acting as primary architect for the new service that takes the BI through to PA/treatment tracking.
  • Other Duties as needed or required

  • Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required

 

Education and Experience:

  • Five or more years experience in nursing, call center support, customer service, medical technology reimbursement or coding, managed care, and/or related industries
  • Associate degree (or equivalent) required

 

Physical Requirements

  • Standing/Sitting 95%
  • Walking/Bending/Stooping 5%
  • Lifting Requirements 1 to 5 Ibs
  • Travel by air, rail, auto (% of time) 5%
