What you will do

You will be a member of the Defect and Inspection Process Engineering team. This team is responsible for the standard defectivity analysis and tools currently operated in the cleanrooms.  With an eye on the future needs, the team also follows up new defectivity measurements and methodology’s becoming available on the market. 

 

As a process engineer you will be responsible for defect inspection tools in both imec cleanrooms.

  • Execute defectivity inspections & create new, advanced measurement recipes to support imec’s leading edge programs.
  • Become a defectivity expert, bridging the gap between junior and senior process step developers, integration people and operators in the cleanroom.
  • Ensure the most efficient tool use by efficiently matching applications with our defectivity toolset.
  • Follow up on the tool status and proactively flag and solve tools issues or drifts in close collaboration with the tool manufacturer.
  • Train and qualify new users coming from various companies and having different experience.
  • Lead improvement projects to improve our speed of learning, our quality and efficiency.
  • Be responsible for the start-up of new defectivity tools (from installation to full release to the fab).
  • Support the 24h by 7d fab operations in a 2 shift system: early/late, 1 weekend out of 4.

Who you are

  • You have a Master degree in Applied Sciences, Material Engineering or Electronics
  • You have interest, or experience, in metrology/defectivity in a high tech clean room
  • Experience with defectivity in a production environment is a benefit, though not mandatory
  • You are eager to learn the different application fields for the defectivity measurements under your responsibility.
  • You are a fast learner and willing to master the different supporting tool sets needed to operate your tools according to production standard specifications.
  • You are flexible and able to deal with change or ambiguity
  • You work accurately and have attention to details
  • While being a team player, you can also work on your own and are proactive
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • Given the international character of imec, fluency in English is a must.
