- In this role you will supervise day, swing or graveyard production material handler activities and ensure that processes are performed according to standard operating procedures.
- Ensure accuracy and control of materials, inbound and outbound flow and the Kanban levels in the designated production Kanban areas are maintained, with minimal supervision.
- In-depth working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and applicable understanding of department processes needed as well as an excellent understanding of company policies, procedures, and reporting systems.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervises material handler processes and manage Kanban areas and coordinate the scheduling of people, materials, material flow and equipment as needed.
- Support the set-up of new or existing production line location and Kanban areas.
- Liaise among different departments, finance, warehouse, purchasing, production, quality, and engineering to coordinate and resolve production/material related issues.
- Performs all personnel related functions related to material handling staff including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor and maintain Kanban inventory levels in the designated production areas where material is stored for production use.
- Ability to provide support reconciling material shortages or overages.
- Ability to provide guidance to locate material and/or supplies and verify materials and supplies listed on production orders, BOMs and or in the Kanban areas are accurate
- Contributes to team effort by collaborating and communicating with the appropriate departments on topics such as: Material Cycle Count Scheduling, Process Improvement, Safety, Inventory/Lot Control issues, NCRs, CAPAs and Material Shortages etc…
- Investigates, supports, provides guidance to others and performs appropriate material transactions/functions (using computer ERP/MRP system or paper-based forms/documents) required to issues, handle and/or record materials transactions.
- Identify training needs.
- Ensure members maintain a clean, neat, and safe working area.
- Escalate issues to management for resolution, as deemed necessary.
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
- Assist with various projects as assigned by the direct Manager.
- Processing material requests in a timely manner to support manufacturing production areas
- Participates in job rotation to be cross trained in secondary job responsibilities
- Able to provide support to and perform Manager’s duties as needed.
- Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures
- Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company.
- Ensure other members of the department follow QMS, regulations, standard and procedures
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
- High school with 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, preferably in the medical device industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ERP/MRP Systems experience
- Computer experience
- Strong written/verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to follow written instructions
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices helpful
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- In-depth problem solving, leadership experience and organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously
- Satisfactory completion of a background check
- Ability to work 12 pm to 8 pm Monday through Friday.
Working Conditions
- General stockroom and cleanroom environments
- Willingness and ability to work on site.
- Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens
- Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to move between buildings and floors.
- Must be able to remain stationary and use a microscope, cleanroom or laboratory equipment, or other standard office equipment, for an extensive period of time each day.
- Will need to use a computer for email, trainings, procedures, etc.
- Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.
Annual Base Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000

Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
