Interaxon (Muse) is a consumer and B2B medical neurotechnology company specializing in brain computer interfaces (BCIs) through the production of its research-grade EEG headbands, Muse. The Muse headband uses EEG sensors to monitor brain activity and provide real-time feedback to users about their mental state, including their level of focus, relaxation, and stress. It has been used by researchers, mental health & rehabilitation clinics, universities and sport teams to improve mindfulness, mental health practices, sleep and support neuroscience research and innovation.

Interaxon is known to be the largest EEG datasets in the world, with +1 billion minutes of brain data. Muse has been used in over 200 published clinical research studies, including Mayo Clinic, NASA, Harvard and MIT. Interaxon is headquartered in Toronto, Canada

 

As the fractional Chief Marketing Executive, you’ll focus your expertise on shaping the strategy and driving growth in the B2B2C channel. You will also support the VP, Marketing and marketing team in driving the overall strategy and execution of integrated marketing initiatives across all channels. You are passionate about driving growth in the health tech industry, mental health at home and in clinics, within a start-up setting. You have strong D2C and B2B2C growth experience and have also worked in the health teach ecosystem (ex. Clinics, healthcare, wearables. ect)

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee implementation of B2B2C marketing strategies that align with our business objectives, developing processes and optimizing partnerships to drive growth.
  • Optimize revenue streams, cost structures, and resource allocation to achieve profitable growth within B2B2C, while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Effectively manage distribution and channel partners to support revenue goals as well as the optimization and delivery of marketing initiatives that drive new customer acquisition in B2B2C channels. Monitor and analyze performance metrics to continuously improve ROI and KPIs.
  • Provide data-driven insights and performance reporting on all B2B2C channels on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. 
  • Apply industry expertise to support VP, Marketing in development of integrated marketing strategies and initiatives across all channels (B2B, B2B2C and D2C)
  • Foster a culture of excellence by modeling and inspiring performance oriented contributions.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.

 

Requirements and Skills

  • 10-15+ years of executive marketing leadership experience, with focus on D2C and B2B2C growth, with experience in B2B in the health tech or/and healthcare industry.
  • Strong B2B2C marketplace experience (ex. Amazon, Walmart, insurance). 
  • Experience driving results within a hardware & subscription model. 
  • Exceptional track record delivering spend-efficient, multi-channel growth.
  • Deep understanding of the full-life cycle that drives growth in a consumer business (consumer acquisition, engagement, product, marketing, retention).
  • Has access to wide marketing network of creatives, freelancers, agencies, and other senior executives in North America.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in marketing analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Creative thinker with customer-centric approach.
  • Experience in a startup environment.
  • Passion for health technology and positive impact on the healthcare industry.
