Embedded Hardware Engineer

Requirements:

• Expertise in using ECAD tools such as Mentor/Altium/Allegro.
• Should be able to understand and read datasheets/schematics independently.
• Strong design experience in Mixed-signal board design (especially in New Product Design).
• Experienced in the design of complex Analog, digital, and power multi-layer printed circuit boards for high-density, impedance control, high-speed, and DFM design using through-hole, SMT, fine-pitch, blind/buried via, and BGA components.
• Characterize IP-specific Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and performance test cases to evaluate IP performance at various operating conditions (i.e., voltage, process, temperature).

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of EMI/EMC issues and layout practices for mitigation.
• Good experience in the Board brings up & functional design testing and debugging.
• Drive the team through the concept/design/optimization & validation phases of the project.
• Understanding of power stage topologies, advantages, and disadvantages.
• Knowledge of RF circuitry design and wireless technologies including Bluetooth.
• Communication protocols like I2C, UART, SPI, LIN, CAN, and Human Machine Interface.
• Must have knowledge of Library Creation and Library Database Management, Symbol Creation, and Schematic Entry.
• Experience with simulation tools such as Cadence SI, P-SPICE, etc. along with instruments like Logic Analyzer and Oscilloscope.
• Define and deliver the hardware IP architecture specifications that meet competitive power, performance, area, and image quality targets. Lead the targets through to tape-out and product launch.
• The willingness to learn new Processes and Technologies also follows the same for each design.
• Knowledge of the PCB Manufacturing Process is a Plus.
• Work on Product Design, mechanical integration, and with the operations team on manufacturing test development and contract manufacturers.
• Familiarity with work management systems such as JIRA and version control systems such as git.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Masters in Electronics/Instrumentation with 3 to 5 years of experience.
• 3 years of Design experience in Mixed Signal board design with in-hand end-end product design knowledge would be great to have.
