About the job

The Accountant / Senior Accountant will be primarily responsible for the financial close process, completing several aspects of the close as well as working through complex technical accounting transactions. This person will be a key member of the Finance team, working with the Controller and GL Accountant to provide parts of external financial reporting, support with auditor queries, risk management and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with the monthly financial close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries, analyses, and reconciliations to ensure accurate financials and timely closing of the books
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and account reconciliations, including first level review of input prepared by GL Accountant
• Work with the Controller to ensure the company has an adequate system of accounting records, policies, and controls
• Assist with the design, implementation and execution of policies and procedures necessary to comply with current and future financial reporting requirements
• Evaluate business transactions for proper accounting and prepare required audit documentation
• Support on writing financial analysis sections of annual or half year reports
• Be a partner to your direct Finance team, FP&A and external departments, providing relevant and reliable information and input when requested
• Be a main point of contact with our external and internal auditors throughout the course of the respective audit cycles, including working diligently with the Controller to ensure financial processes are designed, operating, and documented appropriately and in accordance with financial regulations

About you

• Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred Area of Study: Finance/Accounting, CPA, CMA, or other financial certification
• 5+ years of experience in accounting
• Sound knowledge of accounting statements and financial reporting
• Excellent analytical skills; proficiency in Excel and strong computer skills is required
• Ability to operate both strategically (big picture) and operationally (small picture)
• Proven ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and see projects through to conclusion in a fast-paced environment
• Highly collaborative with strong business partnership and influencing skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
• Experience with ERP/ financial planning systems required, experience implementing these systems would be a strong plus
• Work well in a small team environment, has the ability to multi-task, is interested in collaborating with Operations and can roll up sleeves to ensure all department goals are achieved
