The Role
Akili is looking for a Software Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Software Quality Assurance team. As our SQE, you will apply your skills and experience to ensure the quality of Akili’s testing tools and automated frameworks, platform backend services, data services, data stores, and cloud infrastructure. Scope
- Manage and expand on our automation testing frameworks and tools
- Develop and run test cases with a liberal use of automation to cover backend and data services, data stores, and cloud infrastructure
- Apply engineering principles and techniques to evaluate systems during development
- Record, report, and track defects to accurately depict the status of the systems
- Recommend continuous improvements across Akili’s tech stack
- Consult with cross-functional stakeholder regarding development, testing and installation problems or malfunctions and recommend solutions
- Step into the unknown – Akili is a pioneer in digital therapeutics. The things we build are novel in our space.
- Dabble across specialties – we’re a small team looking to grow, and never afraid to learn about the technologies upon which we work.
Qualifications
- 3+ years creating test scenarios and applying automated testing techniques
- 3+ years of experience with various flavors of Agile development
- Released 2+ products that incorporated CI/CD (Jenkins and/or Gitlab preferred)
- Extensive knowledge and experience using programming languages and API automation testing frameworks like Java, Python, Gherkin SoapUI, REST, and TestNG etc
- Proficient knowledge and experience using several UI automation testing frameworks, including Selenium, Appium, etc
- Working knowledge of key platform technologies, including Scala, SQL, AWS, etc.
Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrates mastery of API and backend development best-practices
- Experience testing mobile apps, web apps, data science models
- Has experience working in an environment with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Demonstrates ability to expand skills

Compensation:
Cash Compensation: $120,000 – $150,000 base salary plus additional incentive compensation
