Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and visionary Research and Development Team Leader to lead and inspire our teams of scientists, clinicians, and engineers. As the Research and Development Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in guiding multidisciplinary collaborations, translating research concepts into innovative prototypes and cutting-edge algorithms, and driving our research and development efforts. You will have published in the neurotechnology field and have experience in innovation and technology commercialization. The position assumes experience in leading and managing scientific teams. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our products and technologies. Lead Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Act as the leader of a diverse team of scientists, clinicians, and engineers, collaborating to translate research concepts into innovative prototypes and cutting-edge algorithms.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Data Exploration and Analysis: Lead the manipulation, exploration, analysis, and visualization of data using both novel and existing algorithms to extract crucial insights from neurological and clinical datasets
  • Scientific Process Development: Take the lead in the formulation, development, and optimization of scientific processes that drive our research and development efforts
  • Technical Reporting and Leadership: Summarize research findings in technical reports, patents, and publications, and provide guidance to team members on effective communication with a wide range of scientific and business stakeholders
  • Stay Current and Mentorship: Lead the effort to stay up to date on the latest developments within relevant fields, including neuroscience, engineering, and data science, and mentor team members in ongoing education programs and conference participation
  • Full Research Lifecycle Leadership: Guide and oversee contributions across the entire research studies and clinical trials lifecycle, including study design, initiation, data collection, data analysis, and results dissemination
  • Product Improvement Strategy: Develop and lead the strategy for analyzing data from post-market surveillance to identify opportunities for ongoing product improvement and innovation
  • Integration and Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to lead the translation of research findings into design requirements and provide guidance on integration into production software and hardware
  • Additional Duties and Team Empowerment: Lead by example, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and innovation while empowering team members to excel and supporting the company’s research and development goals

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: Master’s degree or higher in neurotechnology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field is required while an advanced degree (PhD) in neurotechnology, biomedical engineering, computational neuroscience, or a related field would be preferred
  • Team Leadership and Expertise: Previous leadership experience in guiding multidisciplinary teams in the related fields, with a focus on research and development as well innovation initiatives
  • Research Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in human neuroscience data exploration, analysis, and visualization, with a deep understanding of scientific processes
  • Scientific Impact: A proven track record of scientific leadership, including publications, presentations, and contributions to the advancement of the field
  • Data Science Skills: Proficiency in scientific computing in Python (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, Matplotlib) and/or R
  • Statistical and Machine Learning Leadership: Advanced knowledge and leadership in statistical, mathematical, and machine learning techniques using packages such as sci-kit learn, stats models, Keras, or PyTorch
