Position Summary
This position independently performs complex computational tasks and neural data analysis.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and maintenance of data acquisition systems, and trains lab members on their usage.
- Performs complex data analysis (electrophysiological, imaging and behavioral data), explaining methods and procedures to other lab members.
- Provides for data entry and current data files on research projects. Monitors data to ensure consistent quality.
- May perform preliminary statistical analysis of data.
- Assists in the training and development of technicians, acting as a group leader.
Working Conditions
Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Looking for a curious, talented individual who loves learning and acquiring new skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.
- Coding experience/ability is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree and two years of experience in a laboratory setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience equaling seven years.
Grade: R08-H
Salary Range: $18.40 – $31.31 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one’s qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
