Embedded System Engineer

Artiria Medical SA is a start-up company active in the field of neurovascular technology. Artiria’s objective is to establish a new standard of care to fight stroke and save lives. 15 million people suffer a stroke every year. This brain pathology often leads to severe disabilities and death. Artiria develops cutting-edge medical devices using the patient’s arteries as an access route to smoothly reach the brain and locally deliver life-saving treatments.

Artiria Medical is looking for a talented Embedded System Engineer to contribute to the development of the company’s products.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities

• Define and implement embedded SW architecture and SW unit specifications
• Contribute to the development of embedded electronics.
• Lead SW risk management and SW verification and validation (VnV) activities.
• Contribute to the overall device test activities (e.g., electrical safety, usability).
• Actively support and collaborate with the rest of the RnD team (mechatronics, industrialization).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Microengineering / Software Engineering (EPFL, HES, or equivalent).
• 2 years of experience in Embedded Software Development (C/C++, Silicon Labs toolchain a plus).
• Familiar with ISO 13485 / ISO 14971 / IEC 62304.
• Familiar with tools for version control (e.g., Git) and continuous integration (e.g., Jenkins).
• Familiar with wireless communication protocols (e.g., BLE).
• Familiar with electronics design for embedded systems (e.g. Altium).
• Strong commitment and drive to work in a startup environment.
• Willingness to take on new technical challenges.
• Language: English, written and spoken, French a plus.
• Good-to-have:
  • Experience with SW development for class III medical devices
  • Experience with low-power systems
