Job Responsibilities:
The SEC Reporting Manager Ensures the integrity of accounting information by reviewing, recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. They will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely preparation and filing of the company’s financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). General Description and Duties:
The tasks listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job effectively.
- Ensures timely filings/submissions of SEC filings, including, but not limited to, forms 8-K, proxy, 10-Q, 10-K, form 4.
- Assisting with implementation of ESG programs and disclosure readiness in response to current SEC proposals.
- Directs and oversees the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements and supporting documents for both internal and external use.
- Ensures that reports, filings and documentation comply with company’s regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Responsibilities include the preparation of footnote disclosures and Management’s Discussion & Analysis and tie-out of financial statements and disclosures.
- Confirms that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements.
- Advises management of trends and changes in reporting requirements and recommends best approach for any changes in reporting.
- Assess financial reporting software to determine organizational needs, and lead implementation efforts, if warranted.
- Prepare data and other supporting information requests as needed for internal and external audits.
- Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively.
- Review required extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging in connection with filings.
- Assist with preparation and updates of accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
- Responsible for preparing and/or reviewing schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations as it relates to technical areas as well as assisting with the close and monthly finance review processes.
- Provide support as required to the Controller as it relates to the review of contracts.
- Ensure other members of the department follow regulations, standards, and procedures. Participates in the review of external department deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency with SEC filings and internal reports and documents, as well as compliance with SEC rules governing non-GAAP metrics.
- May serve as a liaison with or oversee the work of external and internal auditors.
- May direct the preparation of materials for board, shareholders, and/or the audit committee.
- Ensure consistent application of current and updated disclosure requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and own the delivery and execution of the required SEC filings and other reporting requirements.
- Prepare technical accounting memos as new issues arise. Assist in the evaluation of significant and complex accounting transactions, research and implementation of relevant accounting technical standards, and preparation of technical accounting memos supporting all accounting positions.
- Review work and conduct goal setting, performance evaluations and career development discussions for the reporting team as necessary

Position Qualifications
- Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting rules and regulations.
- XBRL knowledge required.
- Strong understanding of SOX, internal controls, auditing practices and principles and best practices in corporate governance.
- Experience with financial reporting systems. Workiva experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational & project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with leaders and employees at all levels in the organization.
- Proven ability to manage, mentor and develop staff.
- Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. CPA preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- 7+ years relevant professional experience; 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $138,000 to $155,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
