The ARGO Neuroscience of Aging has several on-going research studies focused primarily on older adults. This particular study is an on-going longitudinal study looking at depression in older adults. The employee will be conducting telephone screens to see if potential participants meet preliminary eligibility. In addition, employee will conduct MRI clearances to ensure that participants can safely complete the MRI. Candidate will assist with data entry into our database. Candidate will also make reminder calls to participants regarding their upcoming visits and will schedule them for their visits. The ideal candidate would have good interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to interact with an older adult population. This person would be adept at explaining all the procedures of the studies in a way that makes the participant feel comfortable. The ideal candidate would also have the ability to work independently.
This position is grant funded.
Purpose:
The Research Assistant provides support as needed to the department. Performs literature searches and assists in the preparation of professional manuscripts and grant proposals and will also be responsible for data collection, entry, and management.
Responsibilities:
- Organize references and materials for research projects and content areas.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with stakeholders and internal staff.
- Conduct literature searches.
- Provide support for grant proposal and manuscript development and submission.
- Participate in meetings, trainings and seminars, both internally and externally.
- Perform data collection and entry.
- Assist in data management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field, or current enrollment, with some experience in research environment.
- Experience in the area of public health, psychology, applied research or behavioral health is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn various software packages as needed.
