The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Test Engineer II who will take the lead in remediating existing manufacturing and engineering test procedures, authoring new test procedures, and designing test systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to testing, including electro-mechanical testing, adhesive testing, battery testing, and hardware failure analysis. You will also serve as a primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external test support contractors.

 

What You Will Be Working On:

  • Remediation of existing manufacturing and electromechanical engineering test procedures, protocols, and plans to create stand-alone documents that are product-agnostic and compliant with QMS requirements.
  • Authoring of new test procedures for engineering studies.
  • Development and writing of new test plans and reports for engineering studies.
  • Conceptualizing and designing test systems, including specifying and purchasing supporting software, parts, and assemblies; assembling, qualifying, and commissioning new test systems.
  • Serving as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external test support contractors.

 

About You: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar role.
  • Proven experience in a test engineering role, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and quality assurance requirements for medical devices.
  • Ability to participate in multiple efforts simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with reliability and safety test standards, protocols, and related test equipment for MIL, IEC, UL, etc.
  • Experience and knowledge to interpret electrical schematics and perform electrical calculations.
  • Strong working knowledge of standard electronics test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies.
  • Strong working knowledge of embedded programming and debug interfaces including JTAG and SWD.
  • Proficiency with 3D printing technologies and related software.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python and Scala.
  • Experience with a broad range of automated test procedures and systems.
