We are currently looking for a part-time Clinical Operations Coordinator to join the Axem team in a contract position.

Axem Neurotechnology is a medical device company building a new standard of care for post-stroke recovery. We are a mission-oriented company looking for ambitious self-starters. We hire for character first and skills second.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operational execution of Axem’s current clinical studies and internal projects, as well as leading Axem’s software QA/QC efforts. The role requires coordination of various aspects of our research and development, including study management, data collection, software troubleshooting, quality control and operational support for products in development.

The ideal candidate:

• Is an excellent communicator
• Is extremely well-organized
• Has experience coordinating research studies and collecting data with human participants

Moreover, the following are considered assets (but are not requirements) for this role:

• Has experience in software QC and troubleshooting
• Has project management or research coordination experience
• Familiarization with research conduct and administration (e.g., ethics review boards)
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and software tools

Responsibilities:

The role will involve:

• Owning several important operational elements of Axem’s internal projects
• Managing recruitment and conducting study visits
• Providing operational support to research collaborators
• Collaborating with Axem’s software team in various quality control testing
• Data collection according to approved experimental protocols
• Providing support to external partners (e.g., assisting with administrative issues, shipping and receiving, technology troubleshooting)

Requirements:

• Must be located in Halifax regional municipality
• Must have valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
• Must be willing to travel (up to 60 minutes from HRM) occasionally
