Boston, Massachusetts 02215, United States · Full time
Are you a driven postdoctoral researcher passionate about neuroscience and interested in understanding how the human brain ages? Join our team!
The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) at Harvard Medical School (HMS) is searching for a self-motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join our team. Funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA)/National Institute of Health (NIH), we aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying aging in the human brain. A particular emphasis will be placed on RNA-related mechanisms. These mechanisms will be examined in postmortem human brain tissues, and will be validated using in vitro assays and in vivo mouse experiments. Ideal candidates should be self-motivated and capable to work independently. A commitment of 2-3 years minimum is expected, with potential for extension as funding is available.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Neuroscience and/or relevant biomedical field.
- Experience in aging and/or RNA biology.
- Familiarity with spatial transcriptomics, neuronal differentiation of iPSCs, and/or bioinformatics (advantageous, but not mandatory).
Why BIDMC?
- Located in Longwood Medical Area (LMA) in Boston, MA, BIDMC is a renowned teaching hospital of HMS.
- LMA, housing both HMS and BIDMC, stands as a global hub for groundbreaking biomedical research.
- Engage with vibrant Postdoctoral communities! Postdoctoral Associations are present at both BIDMC and HMS. If you wish, you have a fantastic opportunity to become an active member.
