Description

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, in the College of Arts & Sciences, at Baylor University, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer faculty position beginning in August 2024. We seek applicants with strong interest and experience in teaching psychology courses at the undergraduate level, with primary responsibilities in instruction, mentoring, and service. This appointment is a renewable full-time, benefits-eligible, teaching-focused position with a 6-year promotion path to Senior Lecturer for successful candidates (see: https://www.baylor.edu/risk/doc.php/339361.pdf). We seek a collegial faculty member who will contribute positively to the department’s culture of innovative teaching, student-centered mentoring, and dedicated service to our undergraduate programs in an inclusive environment. 

 

The Department offers undergraduate degrees in psychology and neuroscience and serves over 800 undergraduate majors as well as two doctoral programs. Baylor University and the Department place a high priority on cultivating student and faculty success at all levels and supporting professional excellence through faculty development programs offered by the Academy for Teaching and Learning. The Department has a long history of teaching excellence, with numerous faculty recognized for outstanding teaching and mentoring. Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in psychology, clinical psychology (from an APA accredited program), developmental psychology, or related fields is required by the time of appointment.
  • We welcome applications from individuals in all sub-disciplines, but we have a preference for candidates who can teach undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas: theories of clinical and counseling psychology, psychopathology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and/or courses on culture, diversity, and discrimination.
