Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a team of electrical and mechanical engineers and documentation control personnel in support of Manufacturing Operations. This team also collaborates closely with the R&D Engineering team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Managerial:
- Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and successful product launches.
- Identify and analyze manufacturing process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Implement solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and achieve operational excellence.
- Manage and execute process validation activities, including process capability studies, equipment qualifications, and validation protocols.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and quality management systems.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate and select suppliers/vendors for manufacturing equipment, tools, and technologies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in manufacturing engineering, automation, and industry best practices. Apply knowledge to enhance operations and drive innovation.
- Establish and monitor preventive maintenance program and equipment upgrades to achieve efficiency and uptime goals.
- Establish risk management tools to include Process Flow Diagrams, Process Failure Mode and Effect matrix.
Technical:
- Comprehensive problem solving and continuous improvement methodologies, tools, and applications expertise
- Extensive engineering skills with ability to adapt and apply current knowledge to HBIO’s products and processes
- Cognitive ability to understand HBIO’s technology and customer applications
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Highly collaborative individual with ability to negotiate and influence others and build strong professional relationships
- Organization and project management skills
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills enabling the individual to confidently convey critical and complex information
- Engineering technical ability to understand and support HBIO’s broad offering of products
- Problem solving and continuous improvement proficiency and application
- Models ethics and integrity
Experience
- BS or MS in Engineering – Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing related.
- Minimum 5 year’s management experience
- Lean Manufacturing experience a plus
