The lab’s overarching goal is to understand the plasticity that maintains drug craving even after long periods of abstinence. We are looking for a curious and detail-oriented scientist who will learn to use fiber photometry to identify circuits involved in cue-induced methamphetamine craving after protracted abstinence from methamphetamine self-administration. They may also become involved in related projects in the lab using molecular and electrophysiological approaches. The position is supported by a recently funded NIDA R01. Prior experience in animal models of addiction including drug self-administration is preferred.
