Responsibilities

Position Scope:

The incumbent serves as the operational lead within the Neuroscience programs across multiple inpatient facilities and supervises the development, implementation and organization of the overall program. This individual coordinates the efforts between patients, surgeons, hospital administration, and multiple departments while tracking the progress of the program and identifying areas that require attention. This position is responsible for all program management, report generation and review, process improvement, patient satisfaction, facilities review, and administrative activities within the program and must be able to function with independence. The incumbent will work closely with the other Program Managers in the division/region to develop and support the Neuroscience Service Line strategies and reports to the Service Line Division Director for Neurosciences.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead regular scheduled meetings with hospital administrators, the Program medical director, other physicians and key staff.
  • Manage the build out and oversee the day-to-day facility operations
  • Manage the development of standardized evidence based best practices to advance neuro disease specific care.
  • Develop and oversee the creation classes including the coordination of teaching materials with the facilities that provide neuro-based care
  • Manage the measurement system used for tracking surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction, and identify areas that require process improvement.
  • Provide key results at Leadership Team meetings and for other stakeholders as necessary. Key results may include: outcomes, progress against budget, patient satisfaction, complications, denied days, hospital-wide survey results, etc
  • Coordinate community based events/education and reach out to patients as needed to collect data, provide education and continue to advance best practices within neurosciences
  • Develop and edit unit-specific forms and patient education materials including: Creation of Nurse Discharge Checklists, Coach Discharge Checklists, Patient Guidebooks, Daily Newsletters, Wall Hangings, and other standardized materials for the Destination Program
  • Develop a community education and seminar program inclusive of schedules, presenters, content and materials, while advancing the mission, vision and values of the Dignity Health Neurological Institute of Northern California
  • Create and oversee an ongoing quality improvement plan
  • Develop and manage policy and procedures related to care of the neuroscience patient
  • Develop strategic growth and marketing plan in conjunction with Northern California Division Neuroscience leadership

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant clinical background (RN)
  • Current CA RN licensure and AHA BLS certificate
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or supervisor/program management experience
  • Ability to communicate with patients, family and staff in a professional, friendly manner
  • Proven working relationship with surgeons
  • Experience with patient / staff education
  • Proven leadership experience, having managed resources either directly or within the implementation of a new initiative
  • Strong detail orientation and follow-up capacity
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated success in relationship building
  • Ability to keep team focused on goals / timelines
  • Customer service focused
  • Strong data analysis skills, requiring interpretation of clinical results to develop program improvement projects
