Position Summary/ Objectives

The Materials Supervisor is responsible for efficiently organizing and control all levels of inventory, and to manage a team of individual contributors in various warehouses and operational work centers throughout the Regenity network. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy, and for ensuring adherence to all relevant Standard Operating Procures. This role will have several direct reports, and therefore must demonstrate strong leadership while embodying the Company’s policies and values. Most importantly, this role is key agent and driver for safety in the workplace.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory controls, and MRP Systems. The successful candidate will be a leader with a high degree of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality who can supervise a medium sized team.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise the flow of inventory, shipping & receiving, hazmat, and cross-training – all within a safe working environment.
  • Fulfill all inventory requisitions from all departments in an organized fashion.
  • Allocate proper amount of time for cycle counts, ensure inventory is regularly counted and maintain high levels of accuracy (>98%)
  • Assist in attacking the root causes of inventory discrepancies.
  • Work inside of the MRP System and only deviate when absolutely necessary.
  • Perform accurate system location transfers as product is moved between various warehouses.
  • Perform all inventory adjustments as needed and maintain all documentation.
  • Ensure material dispositions are being properly documented.
  • Effectively quarantine all non-conforming materials
  • Effectively control materials which are pending QC release or QA inspection.
  • Coordinate physical inventory counts aif requested by management.
  • Drive adherence to sound inventory practices across various functions
  • Establish an effective replenishment system to keep appropriate levels of inventory inside the production work centers to ensure consistent operations.
  • Recommend and drive ECOs (system change orders) when necessary for BOM updates and procedural improvements.
  • Support regular shipment and receipt of products to and from Sterilization.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and clear of clutter and debris.
  • Maintain hazardous waste documentation and supervise the pickup by outside waste hauler
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, follow prescribed safety regulations and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Ensure products and materials are properly labeled, properly stored, and that the storage areas are properly maintained.
  • Communicate in a clear, concise, understandable manner, and listen attentively to others, and provide instructions to all direct employees.
  • Ensure direct employees are working safely, diligently, and efficiently.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position supervises Materials and Shipping/Receiving Associates and inventory practices.

 

Education, Experience, and Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering and 4 years’ experience in providing Inventory Control processes (or High School Diploma/GED and 8-years’ experience)
  • At least 4 years’ experience working in a regulated medical device environment
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build relationships outside the department as well (suppliers, regulatory agencies, etc.) Time management skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written reports.
  • Strong understanding of GMP and GDP principles
