Scientist Internship

NEW YORK, NYR&D – RESEARCH INTERN

CTRL-Labs is building a practical non-invasive neural interface. Our device is worn on the arm and senses motor neuron signals on their way from the brain to the hand. Our goal is to unleash human potential by erasing the bottlenecks between intent and action. We’re starting with applications in VR/AR, gaming, robotics, health, productivity and more.

We’re seeking creative and productive scientists who are excited about working in a collaborative research environment to help explore and shape the future of this technology. Research areas include:

– Neuroscience
– Machine learning, with emphasis on connectionist approaches. Expertise with real-time signals or
human perception is a plus.
– Statistics
– HCI / human factors, cognitive science, or perceptual psychophysics.

Requirements

  • PhD in neuroscience, computer science, engineering, or equivalent demonstrated research capability in the areas above.
  • Strong research-oriented implementation skills. Fluency in scientific Python and TensorFlow preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented collaboration approach to research. Familiarity with
scientific communication tools (jupyter, matplotlib) a plus.
  • Strong preference for industry software engineering experience.
  • Bonus points for: expertise in signal processing and familiarity with real-time signals
