The Role:

We are looking for an FPGA Engineer who can apply their knowledge and experience in digital design, to develop complex FPGA projects for a state-of-the-art optical medical devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, reviewing and carrying out work packages. Design, development, and testing of iterative product prototypes, with aim of getting a product to manufacture.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver an FPGA based system for use in feasibility studies & clinical trials
  • Risk analysis, testing plans & protocols for FPGA design
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to discuss product ideas, concepts and issues
  • Present product designs to management and stakeholders
  • Hands-on prototyping: in-house and external
  • Detailed, scientific approach to report writing and documentation.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years industry experience in hands-on FPGA design
  • Comprehensive understanding of clock domain crossing techniques
  • Excellent theoretical background in digital electronics
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA tool flows (synthesis, partitioning, place&route, timing analysis)
  • Industry experience writing SystemVerilog / Verilog / VHDL
  • Programming and scripting experience
  • Experience using Questa, ModelSim, GHDL, Verilator, cocotb
  • Experience using Quartus, Vivado or Vitis
  • Experience in High Level Synthesis (HLS)
  • Experience implementing DSP algorithms on FPGA
  • Experience using soft cores. e.g. Xilinx MicroBlaze
  • Experience with high-performance FPGA devices: Xilinx UltraScale/Virtex or Intel Stratix
  • Experience using JESD204B, PCIe, DDR4, Ethernet.
