About Paradromics
At Paradromics, we’re enabling a future where direct data interfaces with the brain unlock technology solutions to unmet medical challenges. A revolutionary leap beyond today’s lab-confined brain-computer interfaces (BCI), our Connexus™ Direct Data Interface (DDI) collects an unprecedented number of individual neural signals with a fully implantable device designed for long-term daily service. Our first clinical application is an assistive communication device for patients who’ve lost the physical ability to speak or type. The Connexus DDI platform—and the vast brain data it accesses–has boundless potential for future applications, from enabling people with sensory and motor impairment to treating neuropsychiatric disorders.
The Role
Paradromics is seeking an engineer with a relentless spirit to join our Research and Development team. Our work is dynamic, and we need an individual who can provide unwavering support to our engineering team while harboring a deep passion for creating groundbreaking products. As a part of our team, you will work on various areas of product development and gain valuable skills and experience at the forefront of neurotechnology.
The role requires a balanced mix of activities, including constructing laboratory equipment, process development, small-scale manufacturing, and performance characterization. We expect the ideal candidate to possess excellent manual dexterity, a sharp eye for detail, and a knack for maintaining accurate lab records. Though not required, experience in a precision laboratory environment would be an added advantage. You will be responsible for taking devices from the material ordering stage to prototype testing, contributing to optimization, developing SOPs, and providing technical and process-related feedback. Flexibility with working hours and a willingness to work evenings and weekends are prerequisites for the position. The role is based at our Austin, Texas site and may require travel.
At Paradromics, we are working on next-generation brain implants to treat severe mental and physical health conditions. If you want to apply your skills in a positive, impactful way, relish intellectual challenges, and want to be part of a team of dedicated and passionate colleagues, this work will be immensely fulfilling.
Please come prepared to the interview process ready to share an example of something you have built.
