Purpose Statement

Develops and administers, in whole or in part, training programs and meetings for the sales force. Executes sales training measurements of success.  Manage the maintenance of all training materials. Monitors and evaluates sales training needs to ensure the ongoing development of employees’ ability to meet customer and product technology demands of the company.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and conducts product training and education programs for company personnel and external customers that support area and company goals.
  • Works closely with Manager, Marketing, and Sales Training team to coordinate and execute sales training meetings: National Sales Meeting, Divisional Sales Meetings and Region Meetings on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage the setup, coordination, and implementation of all sales training programs.
  • Help coordinate and streamline the new hire training process.
  • Work closely with the Manager, Sales Training on various projects, special projects, and special product promotions.
  • Maintain all Sales Training materials ensuring the content is up to date.
  • Conducts regular one on one training in the field with sales representatives including attending client meetings, presenting demos, and scheduled in-services.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of programs by soliciting participant feedback, summarizing results, and formulating recommendations to determine successes and areas of improvement, which will be used to improve subsequent program effectiveness.  Identifies opportunities to develop promotional programs and events in order to create awareness of Boston Scientific products and services and build relationships with customers.
  • Writes area-training plan by working with other Field Associates, Sales Management, and Marketing department to establish the purpose and scope of the procedures, research information to be included, and formulate the procedure to document guidelines for ensuring operating efficiency.
  • Spends approximately 25-50% of their time in the field supporting and working with the Sales Training team on meetings, classes, special projects and 20% of their time on other priorities.

 

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 7 years of sales and/or marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • In-field case support experience supporting ablation procedures
  • Must be comfortable interacting with and influencing all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize direction from several leaders.
  • Comfortable and effective facilitating training and discussions.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced level knowledge and in-procedure support
  • In-procedure support experience
  • Field Sales Trainer or Area Sales Coach experience
  • MBA or other advanced degree
  • Experience creating training strategies and materials required.  Experience facilitating training courses.
  • Proven experience delivering sales result.  Interaction with hospital administration and physicians.
