We are looking for a Neuroscience Data Analyst Intern, who will play a crucial role in supporting our research efforts by analyzing and interpreting complex neuroscience data sets. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the application of data analysis techniques to explore brain function and contribute to groundbreaking discoveries in the field.
Responsibilities:
1.) Data Cleaning and Preprocessing:
- Assist in the cleaning and preprocessing of diverse neuroscience data, including but not limited to electrophysiological, photometry, neuroimaging, and behavioral data
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure data quality and integrity
2.) Statistical Analysis:
- Perform statistical and machine learning analyses to extract meaningful insights from neuroscience data sets
- Implement and interpret various statistical techniques to identify patterns and trends
3.) Data Visualization:
- Create clear and compelling visualizations of neuroscience data to aid in the communication of findings
- Work with tools such as Python, JMP, or other relevant software to generate informative graphs and charts
4.) Algorithm Development:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of algorithms for data analysis, feature extraction, and pattern recognition.
- Stay current with emerging analytical methodologies in neuroscience
5.) Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of neuroscientists, researchers, and engineers to understand project objectives and deliver meaningful results
- Effectively communicate findings and insights via written reports and/or presentations
Key Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program in neuroscience, data science, biomedical engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in relevant statistical and data science tools and techniques, such as machine learning, classification, and regression models
- Experience working with neuroscience datasets (e.g., photometry, LFP, evoked potentials)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB
- Basic understanding of neuroscience concepts and experimental methodologies
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Job Type:
- This is a full time, three month, on-site (flexible) internship position at our location in Alameda, CA
- Compensation will be provided
