Description:

Fillauer is hiring an experienced Machinist in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Machinist will have at least 2 years proven experience and have the ability to setup and operate conventional, special purpose, and CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate both metallic and nonmetallic parts.

Responsibilities:

• Determine dimensions/tolerances of finished parts, sequence of operations, and setup requirements based on blueprints, sketch, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or parts as a template for future machining.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines (mills, lathes, jib borers, grinders, etc.)
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth/angle of cut).
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusting controls or media as required.
• Ability to conduct heat treating on tool steel and oven/furnace operation.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Machinist trade preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate with individuals or groups.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical concepts.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions and strong problem solving capabilities.
• Completed Machinist Apprenticeship with DOL Machinist Journeyman Certification preferred.
• Prefer experience in a medium to large plant.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay:  Starting at $18.00 per hour based on skillset and experience

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
• Must be able to stand for 8 hour shifts
