QA Software Tester

Primary Role:

Alto is looking for a QA Software Tester who can excel in a fast-growing healthcare technology setting. The Engineering team at Alto values collaboration, and you will collaborate with the Quality, Clinical, and Data Science teams to conduct thorough testing of our software platform. QA Testing plays a crucial role at Alto, as it aligns with our dedication to conducting high-quality research and executing Clinical trials effectively. This position directly reports to the Director and Head of Data Engineering.

Duties And Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Software Engineers and Developers to formulate effective strategies and test plans
• Define test plans, test suites, and test cases for functional and regression testing
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
• Evaluate product code according to specifications
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Report bugs and errors to development teams
• Help troubleshoot issues and review and analyze system specifications
• Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Location

Preferably on-site (Los Altos) but open to hybrid or fully remote. No travel requirement.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with software development and defect management tools, such as Jira
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
• Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
• Working knowledge of test management software (e.g. qTest, Zephyr) and test automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber or similar
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
• Strong organizational skills

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Quality Assurance or a related field

PAY RANGE: $70,000 to $100,000 depending on qualifications and experience level
