Job Title: Clinical Research Pharmacist

Reports to: Director of Clinical Operations

Classification: Full or Part-time

 

Position Summary:

As a Clinical Research Pharmacist at Scottish Brain Sciences, you will be responsible for being a member of our Clinical Research Function supporting the identification, set-up, delivery and evaluation of research activities across Scottish Brain Sciences.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following:

  • To support research within a clinical trial setting in liaison with the clinical research team and work closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Implement the principles of the International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP) guidelines for clinical trials
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to the requirements of the regulatory bodies i.e. Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and Research Ethics Committee (REC).
  • Manage and develop the pharmacy area and work with the medical team on preparation and dispensing investigational medicinal products (IMP) and other licenced products
  • Manage drug accountability
  • Assist in developing and maintaining study blinding procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation in research documents and patient notes.
  • Contribute to developing all study documentation under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Operations.
  • Provision of regular and ad hoc information, both written and verbal, including reports, updates, guidance, and performed commitments.
  • Undertake clinical research activities with research participants associated with research studies and clinical trials,(e.g.height/weights/blood pressure; venepuncture trained or willing to undergo training preferred).
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements below represent knowledge, skill, and/or ability.

 

Education/Experience: The ideal candidate will offer:

  • GPhC registered – must be a qualified pharmacist.
  • Experience as a community pharmacist or a hospital pharmacist.
  • Experience with infusion dose preparation
