About the Role

We’re hiring a Quantitative Research Associate to lead the development of statistical models and quantitative methods to help support the company’s mission — exploring the impact of our products on health outcomes (e.g. well-being, depressive symptoms, anxiety, chronic conditions). Reporting directly to our Sr. Director of Behavioral Science, and as a member of the Compliance team, this role will primarily work to conduct statistical analyses using real-world consumer data for client reporting, pilot studies, and observational studies. Knowledge of statistical analyses for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) is also important, and this role will be expected to contribute to peer-reviewed publications, sales assets, and other collateral as well as represent Twill in client meetings as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analyses of internal data to answer questions about the impact of Twill products on users – including moderator and subgroup analyses – which requires working with various types of data including cross-sectional, experimental (RCT), and longitudinal data sets.
  • Conduct exploratory analyses of pilot data in novel populations and contribute to read-outs to clients.
  • Represent the research team around statistical issues on client calls.
  • Generate statistical plans for research protocols.
  • Disseminate research results via peer-reviewed publication, conference presentations, white papers, and other marketable assets.
  • Work with data analysts to develop processes for data retrieval, analysis, and documentation.

Professional Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field with an emphasis in quantitative methods and statistics, or Masters degree with a minimum of 2 years of demonstrable, non-academic experience in advanced statistics.
  • Proficiency with statistical packages such as R, Stata, Python, Matlab, or SAS. Experience with SQL is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistics for longitudinal data including HLM, MLM, mediation and moderation analyses for observational intervention study designs. Experience with RCT designs is highly desired.
  • Relevant experience with mental health research or with chronic conditions exacerbated by stress or mental health concerns is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote start-up environment.
