General Summary/ Overview Statement:
Summarize the nature and level of work performed.
Under the direction of the Mass General Neuroscience Co-Directors and senior administrators, all of whom report to the Chiefs of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, and the Martinos Center, the incumbent will develop, implement, and manage the administrative aspects of the Mass General Neuroscience (MGN) collaborative program, a high-profile, institutional initiative. The program manager will work closely with the Co-Directors and senior leaders from across the institution to develop operational, communications, and fundraising plans for the institute. Must be a high performer who can navigate complex organizational structures and foster key relationships. The position has a high focus on forward-moving progress. Must have well-developed organizational and communication skills. Incumbents must be creative and capable of working independently to produce consistent quality work with minimal supervision and guidance.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities:
Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects, and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.
Program Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement administrative tools, systems, and resources that facilitate the creation of thriving multidisciplinary programs.
- Provide hands-on management for all activities and projects within the MGN Programs.
- Coordinate high-profile committee meetings, including agendas and minutes action items and follow-up.
- Ensure team members and presenters are well-prepared for their roles.
Communication and Outreach
- Develop communication platforms for the neuroscience community (newsletters, emails, websites).
- Collaborate with content development teams to update the MGN & Neurotherapeutics website.
- Collaborate with the Development Office to support fundraising activities, including proposal development and special events.
- Report out on MGN activities and maintain communication with the MGN community.
- Support marketing efforts in the neurosciences, working closely with MGH Marketing and departmental leaders.
Research & Education
- Facilitate cross-disciplinary research efforts, including think tanks, grant proposals, symposia, and special projects.
- Manage all grant submissions and awards (incoming and outgoing) for the program.
- Lead Transformative Scholar Awards (TSA) and other grants and awards distributed MGN.
- Develop and coordinate Continuing Medical Education programming in the neurosciences.
- Implement educational programs tailored for early-career individuals, including medical students and residents.
- Provide support for various departmental programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate and optimize Neuroscience Grand Rounds to facilitate knowledge sharing within the institution.
Event Planning
- Plan and execute high-profile institutional events, including an annual event with approximately 500 attendees.
- Plan and execute collaborative scientific events, such as think tanks and symposia.
Financial and Administrative Support
- Oversee an initial annual operating budget of $300,000 to $500,000 and produce financial reports.
- Conduct data analysis and report on metrics, developing proposals, recommendations, presentations, and institutional reports.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., healthcare administration, project management).
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Previous experience in program management and project coordination.
- Strong financial management and budget oversight skills.
- Proficiency in reporting and data analysis.
- Experience with event planning and coordination.
- Familiarity with healthcare and neuroscience-related initiatives is a plus.
