Neurable is seeking a firmware test engineer to help build wearable devices powered by Neurotechnology. You will help Neurable develop and test experiences for an innovative new Bluetooth headphone product that tracks focus and reduces burnout, while assisting on new hardware endeavors.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and procedures for firmware systems to ensure the highest quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality standards and requirements for firmware development.
  • Design and create test plans, procedures, and generate detailed test reports.
  • Support the identification of root causes for defects through structured analysis. Investigate and troubleshoot complex firmware issues, working closely with firmware developers to devise effective solutions.
  • Maintain and update the defects database using a defect tracking system. Conduct thorough regression testing, identifying and reporting any issues or defects with detailed analysis and recommendations.
  • Stay current on industry standards and best practices related to firmware quality assurance.
  • Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality and maintainability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate the overall quality of our firmware systems.
  • Effectively communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to team members and management.

 

Requirements

  • Proficient in C programming language.
  • Proficient in Python.
  • Strong experience with firmware testing on the STM32 platform.
  • Testing and validation experience with Serial, USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, embedded software is a big plus.
  • Knowledgeable about common buses and communication protocols (e.g., UART, I2C, SPI).
  • Familiarity with interface debugging tools (e.g., Wireshark, protocol analyzer).
  • Hands-on or lab experience with hardware, including analyzing signals on an Oscilloscope and configuring Function Generators.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within a team.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently.
  • Previous experience in testing and validating embedded systems is highly advantageous.
