About the role: 

We are currently offering a temporary project management role focused on guiding and coordinating a groundbreaking project in the field of whole-brain emulation (WBE). This role is fully remote.

Project Overview

Results

• Establish the justifications for whole-brain emulation (WBE) technology.
• Determine the high-level success criteria for developing WBE technology.
• Determine potential methodologies and which may be most worth pursuing/roadmapping (acknowledging both high-resolution and low-fidelity options, their merits and drawbacks).
• Gain further insights on how WBE technology development and Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) development may impact each other.

Output includes 2 reports:

• Results of WBE-specific research, which may serve as an introduction for full-scale development of one or more WBE roadmaps.
• Assessment of WBE technology development as it relates to ASI development.

Expected completion time: 3-4 months (April/ May 2024)

Project Manager Overview

We are seeking a strong-minded and forward-thinking organizer who does not see obstacles as impossible, only puzzles to solve. Someone who: 

• Is able to consider the big picture while remaining agnostic to favored personal or group opinions, and see a project through to completion and excellence.
• Has familiarity with topics such as WBE, BCI, and AI and a general understanding of science and scientific institutions, especially neuroscience. In depth knowledge is preferred.
• Can work with diverse opinions and personalities, existing and to be selected and onboarded, to bring out their best work.
• Can effectively scope work and chunk into meaningful portions to set clear and achievable milestones and timelines.
• Can proof, edit, and offer effective feedback

Specific Duties May Include

• Creating milestones and deadlines for work to be completed
• Gathering and maintaining outlines and contributions, ensuring work is aligned with milestones and project goals
• Organizing and leading workgroup meetings
• Finding and working with individual contributors, hiring additional leads or assistance as necessary, within budget
• Overseeing survey development and implementation
• Overseeing the preparation for and organization of online and/or live events and interviews
• Overseeing the preparation for and implementation of 3rd-party surveys
• Overseeing organization of all contributions: writing, design, and formatting according to project goals
