As the Chief Software Architect, you are responsible for the defining, designing and enabling the overall software architecture across the device portfolio in close contact with requirements & test engineering. In this position you a significant member of the Management Team in Munich.

 

Your Role

  • Lead a bigger team of product software architects and SW experts
  • Define, design and lead the Med Devices & Platform SW Architecture
  • Develop current/future SW Architecture including migration paths/steps
  • Enable dedicated teams to achieve solid SW component design and delivery
  • Anticipate embedded/medical/consumer trends to derive and refine a SW Architecture roadmap, align with the Head of Department
  • Ensure the SW Architecture fulfils non-functional aspects like scalability, extendibility and flexibly, enabling better time-to-market
  • Working with various stakeholders on technical and management level

 

Your Profile

  • Master Studies in the area of Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics or similar area of knowledge
  • Minimum 7 Years of experience in same or similar role, having influence into several teams and/or subprojects within software development
  • Excellent understanding of embedded software, networking, cybersecurity, and scalable software architectures
  • Very good knowledge of standardized architectures and methods (e.g. AUTOSAR, DODAF, TOGAF, Zachman among others)
  • Proven experience and knowledge of architecting safety and non-safety areas, preferably under medical standards
  • Good knowledge of multiple OS Architectures, usage of Hypervisors and virtualization
  • Very good experience in objected oriented design, test driven development. Modeling under UML/SysML
  • Very good experience of broader used programming languages as Phyton, C and C++, coding is not expected from this role
  • Very good knowledge of broadly used architectural patterns and the way of introducing them into an organization, as well as SOA/Microservices
  • Very good knowledge in managing and packeting software components (e.g. Conan)
  • Very good knowledge of strategy topics derived from software architectures (scalability, maintainability, extendibility, business impact and standardization)
  • Understanding of DevOps Topics like CI/CD, automated testing, configuration of logging and monitoring systems, infrastructure management (repositories, git)
  • Solution oriented person able to handle different levels of abstraction and detailed design, cross functional leadership among teams and an individual contributor if required
  • Experience in working with international teams and different time zones
  • Certification and Courses in Architecture and Agile Development as bonus (e.g. iSAQB, SAFE or similar)
  • Willingness to invest in continuous learning and coaching internally other colleagues, become reference within device development in architecture related topics
  • Excellent communication, technical leadership and moderation skills in English, German at least B1 Level
