Brief Description:
The field-based Key Account Manager Belgium and The Netherlands (BeNe) will work with a small, dynamic cross-functional team to realize the full potential of the evolving Jazz Pharmaceuticals Haematology/Oncology portfolio in the BeNe regions.
The role of incumbent is to deeply understand the specific needs of patients and healthcare professionals in their therapeutic area to identify and address their goals and challenges in support of improved patient access, patient outcomes and quality of care. This will be achieved through the development of professional working partnerships to internal and external stakeholders to positively influence sales potential, future treatment options, funding, positioning of products and effective implementation of peer to peer/advocacy programs. In addition, input and in-market implementation of (marketing) activity and agreed strategic imperatives is needed.
The KAM will take full accountability for the preparation and execution of strong brand & key account management plans as agreed with the management team, fully utilizing agreed processes and procedures.
The role demands good leadership qualities, resilience, high level of cross-functional collaboration and ability to work independent and operationally.
Essential Functions
- Deliver sales and related objectives against targets, with a focus on the Dutch speaking part of Belgium and The Netherlands and new products when needed
- Develop a partnership relationship with KOLs and stakeholders by being an expert in the Jazz Pharmaceuticals Haematology products & relevant disease areas as well as local/regional and national healthcare policy as appropriate.
- Build customer networks that enable the rapid identification, diagnosis and treatment of patients
- Remove local prescribing barriers by helping priority accounts with solutions to local service limitations
- In close cooperation with the Cross-Functional team, actively provide commercial and sales related input to the Cross Functional Brand plans.
- In close cooperation with Disease team; develop, implement and review a cross-functional key account business plan that is aligned to the strategic brand plan and endorsed by the GM.
- Monitor and evaluate performance against business plan and deliver within agreed matrix of activity (effective commercial and promotional activity planning)
- Work with medical, market access and marketing to enable customer access to Jazz Pharmaceuticals support programmes e.g. educational events, relevant symposia, peer to peer programmes
- Initiate, organize and liaise with key stakeholders around educational (sponsored) events; become the key contact person and representative for Jazz Pharmaceuticals in the region
- Identify and capture opportunities for business growth e.g. key account potential, new projects or added value services
- Profiling (and regular updating of) key customers and accounts into currently available CRM system and include in omnichannel projects
- Accurate and timely reporting of customer and business records, through CRM system, using agreed performance measures
- Provide feedback to brand team on market intelligence and propose input on business planning and strategy
- Willingness and ability to assist with ad hoc business projects as defined and directed by the brandteam
- Behave ethically, responsibly and professionally in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals values and Benelux codes of practice
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Incumbent needs to speak Dutch and English; French is an advantage.
- Understand and have knowledge around patient access, reimbursement/funding and implementation of guidelines and healthcare pathways within Haematology treatment area
- Knowledge of the Dutch Healthcare System, specifically within the haematology area
- It is an advantage when incumbent has knowledge of the Belgium Healthcare System, specifically within the haematology area
- Previous speciality pharmaceutical sales experience ideally with a proven track record in orphan disease area
- Experience in working cross-functionally; self-starter with a strong sense of personal accountability as well as the ability to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic environment
- Proven track record in negotiating & influencing within a healthcare setting to deliver agreed and measurable objectives
- Effective and persuasive communicator with excellent presentation skills
- Ability to be a well-respected sparring partner for HCP’s in optimal patient monitoring, selection and treatment with Jazz Pharmaceutical compound portfolio
- Advanced account management skills that demonstrate business acumen and an innovative approach to projects & solutions that bring added value to Jazz Pharmaceuticals and other stakeholders
- Experience in working with appropriate partners on joint projects that deliver benefits to all stakeholders, in particular patients
Required/Preferred Education and Licenses
- Bachelor degree
- Fully valid driving license
Description of Physical Demands
- Responsibilities may require working outside of “normal” hours, with regards to meeting business demands.
- The size of the market will necessitate appropriate management of travel requirements to ensure coverage of customers as agreed within the brand team (based on priority level)
