The laboratory of Dr. Herbert Wu in the Department of Neuroscience at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Associate Researcher to join our team. The Associate Researcher will support lab projects to investigate the neurobiology of social and cognitive behaviors in mice. This position will involve working with laboratory mice, training animals to perform cognitive tasks, stereotaxic surgery, behavior analysis, building and programming experimental systems as well as intensive analysis of electrophysiology and imaging data. The job responsibilities will also include personnel training and other lab logistics.
The Wu Laboratory is interested in how social and learned behaviors are flexibly controlled by the animal’s experience, internal state, and interaction with other conspecifics. We will apply a variety of modern methodologies including imaging, in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, quantitative behavioral analysis, and computational modeling.
