Responsibility And Authority

The Clinical Application Specialist ensures that users of the Essenz Perfusion System have customizations and reports that meet their clinical needs. This individual will work alongside the Cardiopulmonary Clinical Specialist perfusionist team as well as with partners in the Tier 2 Technology Implementation team, the Project Management Team and sales team to deliver an excellent customer experience.  They will use their expertise in hospital information systems, databases and reporting to maximize the utility of the Essenz Patient Monitor both at purchase and through the lifecycle of its use.

The Clinical Application Specialist must both work independently within their role but remain highly collaborative with their team and company stakeholders. Therefore, the individual must be able to work independently, work as collaborator and manage internal stakeholders, as well as manage their own time effectively.

 

Primary Activities

  • Responsible for all operational tasks regarding the Essenz Patient Monitor software including set customizations in collaboration with the clinical team and inputs from the Jotform customization form
  • Develop expertise in report creation via List and Label Reporting program. Create customized reports and map clinical parameters based on desired report presentation.
  • Provide consulting to understand customer needs and develop customized proposals for perfusion reports and analytics to meet and exceed their expectations.
  • Develop and maintain software expertise for the Essenz Patient Monitor and related software such as Tableau and other statistical tools
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of which devices are compatible with the Essenz Patient Monitor.
  • Maintain and enhance platforms, like Jotform, to support customers in customizing their Essenz Patient Monitor platform.
  • Develop a basic working knowledge of perfusion in order to understand the customer’s ask as it relates to the needs within the Essenz Patient Monitor.
  • Participate in projects and workstreams to support ongoing operations support of the customer and ongoing internal team collaboration.
  • Build and foster high trust relationships with customers, and all LivaNova team members.
  • Collaborates with key internal stakeholders for Essenz Patient Monitor installations and evaluations, including the regional Product Managers, Clinical Specialist team, Field Service, Technical Service, Account Executives and supporting global colleagues – working seamlessly to increase all team’s efficiency and time with the customer.
  • Maintains a positive, proactive, customer service manner with customers and sales personnel during stressful situations.
  • Troubleshoot issues with collaborative solutions, product services/support, and sales support.
  • Provide phone and email support to customers and sales specific to the Essenz Patient Monitor software
  • Provides clinicians and medical staff clear instructions to ensure continuity of education and support related to all aspects of patient outcomes, in accordance with the product’s Instructions for Use (IFU)
  • Professionally integrates into all accounts building trust and relationships and establishes strong rapport with customers.
  • Takes a positive, proactive approach to solving complex and/or unusual clinical/therapy/technical problems.
  • Develops solutions when presented with obstacles.  Plan options/solutions accordingly for seamless execution.
  • Responsible for adhering to all regulatory and LivaNova policies to ensure patient safety and company responsibility.
  • Provides feedback to providers both within operating room setting and outside operating room setting on the directions for use specific to the product.
  • If requested, attend trade shows/conferences/congresses to maintain clinical expertise and current market state, as well as meet customer and support product discussions.
  • Meet all requirements and maintain credentialing status in order to access accounts
  • Provides sales support when needed on clinical in-services, training and guidance to current or potential customers.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
  • When requested, support the training of the sales team for new hires, ongoing education and product launches.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel primarily domestically up to 40% and be available for off hours, urgent issue resolution.
  • Potential for occasional global travel (< 1/yr)
  • Non-travel work from home weeks will be assigned

 

Minimum Requirements And Qualifications (Universal)

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience relevant experience working with/in a hospital, medical device, or technology company. Understanding of hospital information systems and data flow within the operating room including clinical terminology
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams/Zoom/WebEx
  • Ability to quickly learn software programs:  List and Label Reporting software, Tableau, JSON file utilization, SQL and database utilization software
  • Experience with clinical registry set-up and entry
  • Understanding of the basics of coding and programming languages
  • Works well within teams both cross-functionally and teams that may or may be not located within a specific building or geography
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Self-confidence and effectiveness in dealing with a wide variety of customer types.
  • Highly effective at working both independently and part of the large-scale collaborative team.
  • Possesses a high energy level and a high degree of interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in computer skills to execute virtual programs and presentations with the customer
  • Desire and ability to participate and motivate others in team efforts.
  • Strong analytical, innovative, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong documentation skills and experience with Microsoft Online Collaboration

Desired Requirements And Qualifications (Universal)

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in troubleshooting/administering/designing with software tools

 

Compensation

  • The target salary for this position is $70,000-$100,000 + Bonus. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
