We are looking for a Senior Preclinical Medical Doctor to provide technical input and take part in early-stage discovery and feasibility activities to maximize the value and clinical viability of implantable medical devices. This role will report to the manager of medical sciences and work extensively with other teams in the department and company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of current clinical/medical applications in the medical device space
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to identify clinical opportunities and apply new technologies that guide product development
- Perform a broad set of preclinical device discovery activities. For example, cadaver studies, model studies, and assist with large and small animal studies
- Support document generation in coordination with Quality and Regulatory functions
- Serves as a scientific and medical expert on a specific topic matter (for example, neurology) for the team and the company
- Assist in the management of external collaborations with key opinion leaders, clinicians, and companies as part of preclinical device discovery and feasibilty activities
Key Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD, DO) in a relevant field.
- 3-5 years experience working in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other life sciences research
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, detail-oriented
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects at once
- Familiarity with fast-paced environments and ability to manage ambiguity
- Ability to influence and motivate all levels of an organization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with designing and leading large preclinical studies
- Expertise in bioelectronic medicine techniques and theory
