Interaxon (Muse) is a consumer and B2B neurotechnology company specializing in brain computer interfaces (BCIs) through the production of its research-grade EEG headbands, Muse. The Muse headband uses EEG sensors to monitor brain activity and provide real-time feedback to users about their mental state, including their level of focus, relaxation, and stress. It has been used by researchers, mental health & rehabilitation clinics, universities and sport teams to improve mindfulness, mental health practices, sleep and support neuroscience research and innovation.

 

Interaxon is known to be the largest EEG datasets in the world, with +1 billion minutes of brain data. Muse has been used in over 200 published clinical research studies, including Mayo Clinic, NASA, Harvard and MIT. Interaxon is headquartered in Toronto, Canada

 

As CloudOps Developer at Interaxon, you will be responsible for developing, deploying,  and managing our cloud infrastructure to deliver real time EEG processing translating to advanced biosignal feedback experience and reporting for our users. You enjoy managing the ins and outs of systems and use great troubleshooting skills to investigate and resolve issues. You are a great communicator and work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders. You understand the value of scalable systems and high-availability distributed  systems  to deliver seamless experiences from a growing platform. 

 

Tech Stack: Docker, Kubernetes, GCP cloud tools, scripting and programming languages, CircleCI, Airflow

 

Please note that the successful candidate will be offered a 30 hours/week, 1 Year Contract

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud platforms. Collaborating with development teams to ensure applications are designed for cloud scalability, security, and resilience.
  • Automate and streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes.
  • Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous integration and delivery of applications.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Manage containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment.
  • Collaborate with team members to understand and define configuration requirements  in support of ongoing marketing, finance and customer care team needs.
  • Plan, configure, test and deploy enhancements across our suite of company tools using knowledge of system capabilities, internal workflows, and our business needs. 
  • Monitor systems, tools, integrations, and transaction data to proactively identify and track operational performance and data quality issues. Report on system health KPIs. Provide support for critical incidents as needed.
  • Communicate with our 3rd party system reps to optimize configurations and navigate issues that arise. 
  • Establish and document system process flows and field parameters, including subscription plans, keeping everyone on the same page.  
  • As the systems subject matter expert, support internal stakeholder and end users by resolving technical issues and educating the team on best practices for healthy systems.
  • Keep current with new solutions and best practices and make recommendations to continuously improve our systems. 

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer or DevOps/CloudOps Engineer
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with GCP in a production environment, including experience with integration tools
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in of one or more programming languages (Python, Go, Javascript)
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production software applications. Monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting to support distributed high-availability systems. 
  • Experience with implementation of Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps solutions or architecture patterns
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or other comparable tools).
  • Experience in administration and integration with a variety of third-party vendor applications and SaaS systems such as Stripe, ChargeBee, Shopify, ActiveCampaign.
  • Understanding of databases and business analysis.
  • Skill in problem identification, analysis and resolution.
  • Attention to detail with a strong sense of curiosity.
  • Extremely organized, you can keep track of many moving parts to ensure timely delivery.
