Summary:
As an Intern, Software Test Engineer in the Dolby Content Creation group, the qualified candidate will test software that enables the next generation of Dolby Cinema, Home Theater and Music technologies.
You will design, create, and maintain the QA test environment as well as design, write and execute tests, helping to grow a framework for testing professional audio applications and increasing the existing test coverage.
Special emphasis will be put on writing and maintaining automatic test with scripting languages such as Python and improving the interoperability testing with DAWs.
The qualified candidate will design, implement and maintain automatic tests using Python to test Dolby pro-audio applications under development. Another area of work will be to improve the infrastructure and coverage of interoperability tests with DAWs.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize and adapt existing test automation infrastructure and tools.
- Work with senior engineers to create and improve test cases.
- Design test methods needed on assigned projects.
- Implement and conduct cost-effective comprehensive regression and product tests to ensure product requirements are met.
- Report issues through a formal bug tracking system and work with the engineering team to help isolate, debug, and resolve issues/bugs.
- Stay abreast of industry software testing tools and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Experience with various software environments (Windows, Linux and OS X, including Unix/Linux terminals).
- Experience in Python.
- Knowledge of audio signal processing concepts.
- A passion for audio and media production and tools such as Avid Pro.
Nice to have:
- Experience with other scripting languages (Perl, Batch and optionally, with compiled languages such as C, C++ or Java).
- Experience with software testing tools and best practices on designing test plans and test cases.
- Familiarity with standard bug reporting tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or ClearQuest.
- Knowledge of professional audio workflows.
Eligibility:
Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or relative field.
