Role: Graphic Designer (multi-disciplinary)

Responsible to: Creative Director

Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland

 

We are expanding our team and are seeking a highly creative and versatile, multi-disciplinary Graphic Designer – a passionate individual who appreciates the subtleties of typography as much as the intricacies of user experience. The successful candidate will work closely with the Creative Director in elevating the Cumulus brand across all touchpoints, crafting beautiful user interfaces, and providing design support to all functional teams. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Brand & Marketing:
  • Ongoing development, refinement and application of the Cumulus brand identity, ensuring brand consistency across all channels, including print, digital, and social media
  • Support leadership and marketing teams with innovative methods of visual storytelling for all marketing materials that effectively communicate complex scientific concepts, procedures, and data
  • Design and production of exhibition displays, scientific posters, brochures and publicity materials
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring artwork is correct and print ready
  • Stay up to date with developments and trends in creative design fields

 

Cumulus Platform:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and translate them into engaging and intuitive user experiences
  • Wireframe and prototype designs, conduct usability testing, and incorporate user feedback into the iterative design process
  • Present design ideas to stakeholders and take direction whenever necessary
  • Development and guardianship of the Cumulus platform design system, providing guidance where necessary to ensure high quality outputs
  • Identify opportunities for feature enhancements and iterate on existing designs

 

Requirements

  • Degree in graphic design or related discipline
  • 1-5 years’ experience in an agency or in-house design team
  • A stand-out portfolio that showcases your multi-disciplinary design experience
  • Strong conceptual skills, layout, typography and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of UX principles and user-centred design methodologies
  • Knowledge of UI design principles and best practice
  • Ability to think critically from a user perspective
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Proficiency in UI design software such as Adobe Xd, Figma, Sketch or similar
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience using Adobe After Effects (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience using video editing software (desirable but not essential)
  • Familiarity with life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to grasp scientific concepts and interpret them graphically
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
