Position Overview

The Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting will lead the comprehensive financial reporting process, ensure adherence to GAAP standards, and play a key role in public company readiness.

 

What You’ll Do

Financial Reporting:
  • Lead the preparation of comprehensive and accurate financial statements for management and board reviews, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and SEC regulations. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to gather pertinent financial information and disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain robust processes for the timely and accurate completion of financial reports.
  • Play a pivotal role in preparing the company for a potential IPO event in the future, including coordination with external advisors, development of financial controls, documentation of accounting policies, and preparation of applicable SEC documents.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to support decision-making, assess the impact of accounting changes on financial statements, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits, addressing inquiries and ensuring a smooth audit process.

 

Technical Accounting:
  • Stay current with evolving accounting standards and ensure the company’s accounting policies align with the latest developments.
  • Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters, particularly those relevant to a dynamic and growing company.
  • Conduct detailed research and analysis on complex accounting issues, proposing and implementing solutions to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the accounting implications of new business transactions and provide proactive guidance.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging accounting standards, ensuring a seamless integration into the company’s financial reporting processes.

 

Equity Accounting:
  • Oversee the accounting for stock-based compensation, including stock options and performance-based awards.
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure accurate and timely recording of equity transactions.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls related to equity accounting.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience working in a public company or as an auditor (Big 4 experience
  • a plus)
  •  Experience dealing with an IPO or public company environment 
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to guide a team through significant changes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Compensation Range

$200,000—$215,000 USD
