Position Overview
Responsible for performing all payroll related job functions including all payroll policies and activities, reporting, employment, compensation and 401(k) plan.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for full-cycle semi-monthly payroll processing for employees across multi-state locations, timely distribution and reviewing accurate calculation of payroll checks, taxes and other withholdings including frequent new hires.
- Provide a high level of service to team members: answering inquiries, clarifying and resolving problems related to payroll, benefits, taxation, and other compliance matters
- Prepare and analyze reports for business users; increase automation of reports
- Monitor the payroll inbox, answer payroll-related questions and resolve employee issues
- Assist with end-of-year payroll reconciliations and procedures
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
- Review timesheet entries for discrepancies (e.g. missed hours, excessive overtime, missed punches, and missed lunch breaks)
- Assist the finance team with posting payroll entries and analysis of any payroll variances
- Prepare terminations payments to comply with state laws, both on and off-cycle
- Download invoices for reconciliation of disbursements
- Participate in the ongoing development / establishment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents for accounting policies and regulations
- Assist with the T&E Submissions.
- Ad Hoc requests as needed (i.e. Payroll tax submissions, special projects)
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent payroll experience) in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience with payroll processing or equivalent data processing.
- Proficient knowledge of payroll in a multistate environment.
- Excellent customer service focus and experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and navigate sensitive situations.
- Communicates well both verbally and in writing with team members of all levels across the organization.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in multiple systems simultaneously.
- Paylocity or equivalent system experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
