Overview
Position Overview:
Our Area Sales Representative (ASR) provides an office-based, outpatient, treatment option to psychiatrists for the treatment of major depression, anxiety, and OCD. In this role as an ASR, you will be responsible for educating and selling to physicians that treat patients with major depressive disorder, anxiety, and OCD about our unique TMS technology, our competitive advantage, and changing the current paradigm for the treatment of major depression. The ASR will be assigned in a specific Region (vs assigned Territory) to work alongside current Area Sales Managers (ASM) and Practice Development Manager (PDM). The ASR is a development position to transition into an ASM/assigned territory once achievements are met and territory is available.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- As a field-based Sales Position, meet sales goals and quotas for NeuroStar capital systems
- Working with PDM’s and ASM’s, identify and develop new Neurostar providers within Region.
- Properly target BHC’s, large physician in network practices and local psychiatric hospitals in coordination with Practice Development Manager (PDM) and Area Sales Manager (ASM)
- Participate and excel in the Neuronetics sales representative training program.
- Working with Regional Director, ASM and PDM, become fluent in Neuronetics sales process including (but not limited to) talk tracks, proper sourcing, closing the deal, and post-sales support.
- Communicate with customers, making outbound calls to potential customers, and following up on leads via phone and/or in-person.
- Educate physicians and influential staff about the clinical trial results and device features and benefits
- Establish and develop relationships with thought leaders and key opinion leaders
- Manage account success after the sale partnering with the Practice Development Manager (PDM) to provide: practice development support, follow-up training as needed, reimbursement support, and patient education materials
- Share input and ideas with home office staff to assist in decision-making and help set the future direction of the marketing and sales activities
- Daily management of Dynamics CRM- data entry to include calls, emails, notes, follow-up tasks, appointments and status of leads and prospects.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit with interest in traditional selling requirements focused on presenting financial value proposition and product differentiation
- Exceptional oral and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to influence a very knowledgeable customer base
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRM)
- Self- starter and motivated to identify and close sales opportunities
- Strong customer service aptitude
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Life Sciences or Business or related field.
- Two (2) years+ of business-to-business (B2B) inside or outside sales experience, with at least two (2)+ years of successful experience selling medical devices in a clinical office setting
- Highly competitive with a consistent track record of top 10% performance in previous positions
- Residence within current geography or close proximity of the territory is required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean record/background check
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience selling disruptive new technology in hospitals and/or large office environments
- Knowledge of selling a system that contains capital equipment with a disposable component
- Experience working in the Neuroscience and/or Psychiatry space
- Contract negotiation on product offering
Physical Requirements:
- Standing/Sitting: 25-50%
- Walking/Bending/Stooping: 25%-50%
- Lifting Requirements: ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Travel by air, rail, auto: Required up to 75% of the time
For job positions in CA, CO, WA, and NYC, the salary is fixed at $60,000 USD with an estimated commission of $40,000 USD dependent upon on performance to targets. In addition to a competitive overall compensation package, Neuronetics offers restricted stock units (depending on job band and subject to Compensation Committee approval), and a comprehensive benefits package including: selected candidate will be eligible to participate in the Company’s employee benefit plans, which currently include: health insurance; dental insurance; vision insurance; optional supplemental medical insurance; health savings and flexible spending accounts; company-paid life insurance and additional voluntary life insurance; company-paid short term disability and long term disability insurance; participation in a 401(k) savings and investment plan with company contribution; and paid time off. This is a remote role that is based in and supports the west coast.
