We are currently seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our Product Development team. This individual is responsible for designing, implementing, and verifying firmware functional blocks for the company’s Neurostimulator product. He/She will be working in multidisciplinary teams, interfacing with the electrical development and test groups and developing new product platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the design, implementation, verification, and validation of firmware architecture and functional blocks, researching, justifying, and applying technology to projects
- Provides valuable input when reviewing hardware block diagrams and hardware requirement specifications
- Designs for manufacturability and explicitly includes manufacturing processes when doing product design
- Expertly applies NeuroPace Quality systems, which are grounded in FDA GMPs and ISO 13485
- Proactively communicates impact of own work schedule on projects
- Excels as a team member, contributing to an efficient team environment. Begins mentoring junior employees
Requirements
- 5+ years firmware development experience

- Undergraduate technical degree preferred
- Expert in understanding and interfacing with hardware
- Working experience with micro-controller (ARM) architectures in bare metal and/or RTOS environments, including Low Power SOC
- Working experience interfacing with I2C, SPI, Interrupts, GPIO, Clocks, FLASH, UART, and Bluetooth
- Expert at firmware development in ‘C’, assembly, and Python languages.
- Expert in use of industry standard debugging tools, including source level debuggers, in-circuit emulators (ICE), and logic analyzers
- Effectively considers audience when communicating
- Some firmware project management experience preferred
