Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Software Verification Engineer will play a key role in the development of a Class III implantable Neuromodulation system for pain management, working cross-functionally to help verify firmware, software applications, and whole systems and make sure that all stakeholders are aligned, and requirements and user needs are met.

  • Serves as a technical test lead for verification test efforts, including owning and optimizing system, sub-system, and module verification and validation efforts to ensure complete system coverage, proper tracing and buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders
  • Interacts with R&D, Quality Engineering, and Regulatory to create test strategies that have optimal amount of testing and to release technical documentation, such as engineering reports, verification plans, procedures and reports, and validation plans and reports, through document control
  • Reviews and evaluates product requirements for correctness, completeness, and testability
  • Owns test descriptions and protocols, ensures comprehensiveness of test coverage
  • Participates in system integration testing activities and troubleshooting of technical issues, working with developers to identify root cause and viable resolutions
  • Tracks defects, validates bug fixes, analyzes bug trends, and proactively works towards catching issues early
  • Completes regression, dry, and formal verification runs for multiple firmware and software releases at appropriate times in the development cycle
  • Supports validation efforts to ensure complete system coverage
  • Designs, builds, executes, and maintains a test automation framework and scripts for testing mobile and web applications within a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Implements solutions to make the automation framework efficient and scalable.
  • Matures and evolves test architecture through the evaluation and adoption of new automation tools, techniques, and practices.
  • Develops and validates software and hardware-based tools to assist in development and testing.
  • Assesses new test technologies via reviews of the state of the art or by performing proof of concept work and communicates the results of the assessment to members of the development organization.
  • Provides estimates for verification effort and resources required, generates metrics, and provides periodic status updates to broader team and management as necessary.
  • Leads verification for a project of medium to high complexity including managing tasks for a small team of verification engineers.
  • Perform other duties as required 

 

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Engineer, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent degree/major required. Years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • 8+ years with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree – related experience with development, verification, and software testing in the medical device industry. (class III medical device experience preferred).

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with mobile application testing.
  • Experience scripting with high-level programming languages such as Python or PHP.
  • Experience in writing scripts for automating the testing of backend and frontend of applications.
  • Strong understanding of REST and demonstrated experience with web services API testing and automation.
  • Experience implementing automation framework and testing frameworks such as Selenium, Web Driver, TestCafe, Postman, and rest APIs.
  • Experience using Jama or similar requirements management software.
  • Experience using Jira or similar bug tracking software.
  • Familiar with Salesforce.
  • Familiar with digital health products and standards.
  • Experience with risk management (risk analysis, FMEA, ISO 14971).
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to provide creativity while solving complex problems without known solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong track record of working in cross-functional teams.
  • Thorough and high attention to detail.

 

Target Pay Range

$131,930 – $164,913. The final starting salary offer to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography. *Nevro is a multi-state employer, so the target pay range may increase or decrease depending on the city/state.
