Brief description of the role
We develop solutions for vital problems to make a genuine and meaningful impact on people suffering from PTSD. We are seeking a passionate PTSD research intern to join our team and contribute knowledge and expertise towards establishing the solid research foundations this important work requires.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should be a student or recent graduate in Neuroscience, Psychology or related disciplines with an understanding of trauma-based psychotherapies/psychology research. You should be fluent in verbal and written English. Additional language skills are an advantage, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing, elaborating, communicating and documenting a solid research methodology for trauma-based therapies
- Write research summaries suitable for a broad range of audience type, from expert to general public
- Research and build a contact list of PTSD researchers, psychotherapists, immigrants, refugees settlement agencies and trauma survivors
- Support all other research-based activities on a needs basis, depending on shifting priorities
- Work under minimal supervision and take accountability for assigned projects
- Good communication and team collaboration skills
- Well-organized, disciplined and responsible with a good work ethic
- Flexible and adaptable attitude towards learning, taking on challenges
- Useful but not required: Hands-on experience with PTSD-related clinical research (e.g., clinical trials, fMRI, EEG, TMS, PET)
- Useful but not required: Hands-on experience with PTSD-related data processing, analyzing and organizing (e.g., network-based statistic, generalized linear models, image processing)

Duration
This position requires a minimum commitment of three months. Interns in this role who perform well may be retained on a part-time basis and/or offered full-time employment.
Compensation
This is a volunteer intern position and does not include monetary compensation.
