Position title: Clinical Mental Health Professional.
Schedule: Per diem (5-20/hrs weeks).
Primary Location: Remote.
Reports to: Lead Clinical Neuropsychologist Advisor.
Work in collaboration with: Program Director, clinical care providers (occupational therapists, speech & language pathologists, physical therapists, mental health workers, etc.).
Description
We are seeking a dedicated, person-centered, and motivated psychotherapist to join our team as a treating clinical mental health professional! The ideal candidate will have a strong background and commitment to improving the mental health and enhancing the psychological well-being for individuals facing emotional difficulties after brain injury. This person will provide direct outpatient clinical care, with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral therapy and related approaches, via telehealth to stroke patients in an intensive rehabilitation program. This person will be responsible for delivering high quality evidence-based care in accordance with our care model during scheduled patient visits.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake evaluations to identify psychological sequelae associated with stroke.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Provide psychotherapy and psychological interventions targeting depression, anxiety, and adjustment to disability using evidence-based practices with an emphasis on cognitive-behavioral skills.
- Administer patient-reported symptom inventories to track progress over time.
- Offer guidance and education to clients, families, and caregivers regarding mental health disorders and treatment strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including care navigators, rehabilitation therapists, psychologists, and physicians to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services.
- Attend 1 weekly interdisciplinary team meeting with the care team to discuss client cases.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and other necessary documentation according to organization standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with agency policies.
- Attend and represent the organization at professional conferences, in-service trainings, and meetings at the request of or with the approval of supervisor.
Qualifications
- Doctorate (e.g., PhD, PsyD, or equivalent) or terminal Master’s degree (e.g., Master’s in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling), with completion of any postgraduate/postdoctoral training requirements.
- Current Massachusetts state licensure to practice independently as a psychologist, social worker, or licensed mental health counselor.
- Training and experience in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and/or related third-wave behavioral approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
- Experience applying CBT and related interventions.
- Experience working with individuals with neurologic disorders; experience with stroke survivors is an asset.
- Proficiency in conducting intake assessments, diagnosing emotional disorders, and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
