Role

You will be responsible for the assigned supplier network. Ensures parts are available for smooth production, enabling growth and customer satisfaction. Overviews potential risks with suppliers in the own responsibility in relation to dependency and their growth capability and makes proposals to mitigate risks. Follow defined processes in the department to comply with international regulations.

Responsibilities

• Negotiates contracts with international suppliers: quality assurance agreements, framework supply contracts, external manufacturing contracts, etc.
• Develops and improves supplier performance in terms of quality and on time delivery based on data assessments and supplier visits or audits. 
• Ensures new supplier evaluations and yearly supplier assessments are performed as needed
• Follows all international applicable regulations and internal processes as defined in the processes
• Supports the procurement head of department to develop the procurement strategy and the annual update based on global DIH procurement strategy
• Analyses the procurement volume of the “own” suppliers (material, logistics, international total cost) as basis for strategic supplier management
• Analyses supplier risks & dependency in the context of future company growth and product growth / end of life and also for long term availability of spare parts 
• Works closely with global planning to implement improvements to optimize warehouse for purchased items and working capital needs
• Communicates and participates actively in shopfloor meetings with production, incoming good inspection to resolve bottlenecks in a team effort
• Cooperates actively with the development department and the life cycle team to ensure supplier knowledge is included and product costs optimized 
• Supports the budget process
• Is following by example Swiss and international ethical standards 

Requirements

• At least 5 years of work experience in global procurement environment 
• Technical background: technical apprentice followed by Bachelor degree or a specialized procurement education
• Strong ethical behavior in international environment, enjoys working with different cultures
• Good communication skills, fluent in German and English (spoken and written) 
• Good negotiation skills
• Good project management skills, works structured
• Good understanding of the context between finance, production, impact of procurement in the whole supply chain 
• Personality traits include flexibility, self-motivation, honesty, reliability and optimism
• Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and experience with CRM and ERP systems
• Qualification to perform audit with suppliers is advantage
• Willingness and ability to travel (up to 20%)
