About the job

Position title: Neurorecovery and Rehabilitation Speech and Language Pathologist.

Schedule: Per diem (5-20/hrs weeks).

Primary Location: Remote.

Reports to: Lead Speech and Language Pathologist Advisor.

Work in collaboration with: Program Director, clinical care providers (occupational therapists, speech & language pathologists, physical therapists, mental health workers, etc.).

 

Description

We are seeking a dedicated, person-centered, and motivated individual to join our team as a treating Speech and Language Pathologist! The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving communication skills and enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. This person will provide direct outpatient clinical care via telehealth to stroke patients in an intensive rehabilitation program. The Speech and Language Pathologist will be responsible for delivering high quality care in accordance with our care model during scheduled patient visits.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to identify speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client/patient.
  • Provide therapy and interventions targeting speech, language, and communication goals using evidence-based practices.
  • Offer guidance and education to clients, families, and caregivers regarding speech and language disorders, treatment strategies, and home exercises.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including navigators, therapists, psychologists, physicians, and caregivers, to ensure comprehensive care and continuity of services.
  • Attend 1 weekly interdisciplinary team meeting with the care team to discuss client cases.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and other necessary documentation according to organization standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with agency policies.
  • Attend and represent the organization at professional conferences, in-service trainings, and meetings at the request of or with the approval of supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current MA state licensure/certification as an SLP (CCC-SLP or CFY).
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
  • Experience working with stroke survivors.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, diagnosing disorders, and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
