We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the CEO and work closely with our parent company to oversee the subsidiary’s financial activities and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. A successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of accounting principles. We are looking for someone that enjoys getting into the details but also can develop strategy and guidance for our senior leadership team.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow forecasts.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance that aligns with our parent company.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor variances to ensure financial targets are met.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in coordinating the internal or external audit requests and address any audit findings or recommendations.
- Provide guidance to other departments as needed regarding financial matters and reporting requirements.
- Stay current with accounting and tax (sales & use, payroll, etc.) regulations and best practices and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by supervisor or senior management.
- Develop the company’s inventory accounting processes, including the recording of inventory transactions, valuation, and reconciliation. Implement best practices to ensure accurate inventory counts and minimize discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- CPA certified with 5 years of experience or a minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Netsuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with payroll or supporting payroll functions.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Salary Range : 140000 – 160000 USD / year
